A musical Advent Calendar! This is an advent calendar with a difference!

This was written for my pupils to enjoy over the season of Advent: and they did! Each lesson, they would peel off the paper I had stuck over a line or two of music, read the words of a portion of the Christmas story… and eagerly set to, sight reading through the music. They also played through what other children had uncovered since their last lesson too.

In fact, they enjoyed it so much, we wrote another one, where each of the children (and I joined in, of course!) chose a section of the Christmas story, and wrote a line or two of music for it.

A delightful way to celebrate the period running up to Christmas.

With a little adaptation, depending on the instrument and the ability of the player, it may also be used by other treble clef instruments.

Useful for classroom teacher

It could equally well be used by a classroom teacher, playing the music for each day.

Lovely for one child…
