The story behind this piece… 

 

We needed a birthday gift for a friend’s 50th birthday. The only problem  was that due to circumstances, we had not been able to get to the shops, or indeed put much thought to a gift that we wanted to be special. We had four days. I then decided to make a special gift of a piece of music, as she plays the oboe… so I wrote this piece for her and got it bound up in time to take on her special day. For this reason, I am very fond of it.

Later, when asked to step in and cover a cancelled concert,  I used the piece to improvise on and I liked it for piano so I made a piano arrangement too. (The piano version is on SPOTIFY, AMAZON and APPLE ITUNES.)

 

It is a slow, dreamy piece to unwind to.
