There is a Time   3’ 15”

This piece was written on 2^nd February, 2020. It could not have been more apt, although at the time, I had no idea, like any of us, of how the pandemic that would sweep the world in the days and months to come. The inspiration for the piece, was a lovely book, “Songs from Green Pastures” which contains meditations on the psalms. The meditation on Psalm 38, “My God will help me” read: 

“There is a time for everything, You answer. A time for me to face up to my weakness so I can learn of Your strength.”

Vocal range: B, just below middle C to D an octave above, with the tessitura sitting around the lower part of this range for most of the time.

The recording is me! (I am not a singer!) but it will give an idea of the piece, and it’s prayerful nature.
