Tranquilo 

QUARTET Flute, clarinet, easy piano and beginner piano 1’ 40”

 

Another piece written for pupils (and a flute part for me to join in the fun too!) The clarinet player was on UK grade 2, one piano player around grade 1, the other a beginner. The flute part is easy too. I wrote it so that beginner pianists could also experience the joy of playing chamber music – something which is often overlooked.

 

It is slow, so the breathing may be more of a challenge to the wind players, but there are plenty of places where a breath may be taken mid phrase that will not have any detrimental effect on the music. It could also be take a little faster than the marked metronome speed depending on the ability of the beginner piano player.
