A View (2’ 15”)

This began as an idea in a piano lesson. I drew two lines on paper, and asked each of my piano pupils what it meant to them and to make up some music for it. One pupil suggested it looked like a hill, and improvised a few notes that suggested walking up a hill. After the lesson, I could not resist adding to it. As I improvised at the piano, I was suddenly walking up a hill, and a lovely view suddenly spread out before me…
