Autumnal Equinox (4’ 20’’)

Another of the pieces that is in the collection of thirty five pieces “Through the Seasons” written by my pupils and myself. We each wrote either some poetry or prose; another members of the group then chose one to inspire a composition.

This piece was based on a lovely description of the autumnal equinox – a time of change, yet anticipating the rest that nature would find through the winter. The piece tries to capture this mood of tranquility, with references to new life in spring, and the cold snow of winter.…
