Jesus Sweetly Sleeping   duration: 2′ 40″

 

A short, a cappella, melodic piece for SAT/B – ideal for choirs where there is not a strong (or plentiful!) tenor section. It had a somewhat unusual inspiration: it was inspired by some “random chords” played by one of my pupils. (I was asking all my pupils to do this, and I would gradually turn them into piano pieces…this one decided to become a little Christmas piece for choir instead!

 

There are versions in F and G.
