This is a setting of an extract from Matthew Arnold’s poem, “The Forsaken Merman”.

Vocal range: A below middle C (ossia C sharp) to A above the stave. 

Suitable for either mezzo or soprano  as there are ossia bars where is reaches down to A below middle C).
