Peace – Tranquility  (2’)

This was written the day after I had been to a choral workshop with a friend. My life was very busy, with both teaching and as a carer and, as we waited in the car, as we were early, on a cold, crisp night, it suddenly struck me how peaceful it was. Total silence – a deep peace. Next day I wrote this piece. The words “deep peace” seem to fit with the music, and I found myself singing them in my head as I played…

It is very slow, (two minutes for only 36 bars) and very tranquil.

I hope it may give someone the same peace as I experienced then, and as when I play it…
