Prelude Welsh River
Prelude – Welsh River (3’ 30”)
This prelude was composed after a holiday in Wales. It was not initially written from any direct inspiration from the countryside, but “reminded me so strongly of the atmosphere of the beautiful Ystwyth river and its surrounding countryside,” that the prelude became known as “Welsh River”. It is in D major – “a key I have always associated with water.”
