Wandering By The Water, for piano and flute, was in fact, an improvisation, between myself and a pupil. I have always loved improvising, and enjoy passing this onto pupils, often unlocking the door to their hitherto  hidden talents. On this occasion, both my pupil (on the piano ) and myself (on the flute, my second instrument) improvised together, to a peaceful picture of a calm water in a country scene. What a wonderfully free feeling, to improvise alongside another, with not a note to follow on a score! I recorded both the improvisations, and we both liked the result of this one. Later, I notated it from the recording.
