Midlands in Monochrome – Amir Dawoodbhai

This piece draws from the early morning trips I used to take on the West Coast mainline from London. The timing of these trips usually meant that the West Midlands was passed through in the hours where the weak winter sun would initially struggle to break through. The result of this was a landscape often enveloped in darkened shades of brown and grey making for a dramatic backdrop visible for just a few minutes before daylight returns.
