Rhapsody Concertino (easy concertino for piano & strings)
Rhapsody Concertino
(Concertino for piano and orchestra)
This one movement mini concerto was originally written as a piano duet (also available for download).
It is full of lyrical melodies, with soaring strings, delicate passages for harp and piano and with some passion in the central chord section. The piano part is not overly difficult, (easily manageable by a performer of around UK grade 8 standard) so this piece may well suit the less experienced performer who has opportunity to play with an orchestra perhaps for the first time.
The piano part has an orchestral reduction for rehearsal purposes and is available with the free downloadable parts.
Please note, the sound file is an electronic sound file.

Extra Notes
The piece was originally written as a piano duet for two sibling pupils. It was, however, eventually performed by two brothers, one grade 6, and the other grade 8, and this version is also available (piano duet version).
